thank you for this article. it’s like reading my own thoughts. it doesn’t mean that because you are not partying out every weekend and you seem so serious and boring, you’re not happy. it’s just that, partying will never be my way of having fun. i like slow and steady. quiet and peaceful. i like things others find weird, and that’s okay! at the end of the day, only you can tell if you are truly happy or not. and not by other people’s standards. <3

This is sooooo my wife. She is an introvert and I am a extrovert. Great thing is that we respect each other and I never drag her out when she wants to stay home and she doesn’t make me feel guilty for hanging out with my friends. This article gave me a better understanding of her feelings. Thanks

I can relate to this one…Never knew I was an introvert until about 3 yrs. ago. I was 65; it has changed my life completely when I finally understood why I reacted to life situations the way I did and always felt I just needed to be more social. Now I do what I want to do and love It! “It’s better late than never.”

I was reminded of the scripture that goes something like ‘he that tries to save his life shall lose it.’ Very different context, but still seemed fitting.

And yes, there are DEFINITELY some people I know that could stand to hear this.

Thank thank thank you! Feeling so,often like a weirdo because I would rather stay home far more often than most people. I actually love the routines I have. They energize and relax me at the same time. Weekends really throw me off as well. Yet my life is anything but boring – spouse and I travel all over the world. But we go generally with small group travel companies where most of the stressful stuff is taken care of. I like to think as conserve all my social energies for our frequent trips both large and small. Yet I face constant snarky criticism from family and friends because I don’t ALWAYS want to go to various niece and nephew birthdays, football watching Sundays etc. I have felt everything you mentioned in your piece.

I loved this article. When I moved to a beach town on the east coast I got very involved socially with the lgbt community and thought I’d won the lottery. After attending many potlucks I realized that during each one, I couldn’t wait to get home. I thought there was something wrong with me. Now,15 years later, i know that I’m mostly an introvert and there’s nothing wrong with me. I can’t take to much socializing especially with groups.
